The changes for this version

New features

• Add the -check option to applications
• Add support for constituent groups (corresponding to specific make targets) specified using the -group= option.
• CVS actions are now compiled.
• Add selection and exclusion options for the broadcast command.
• Add the - (minus) option (similar to make) for controlling the broadcast behaviour in case of errors : cmt broadcast now stops at the first error except if the - option has been specified in front of the command.
• Introduce the support and management of user defined languages (in fact all languages are dynamically declared).
• The -no_share option permits the suppression of shared library production.
• Provide and use the set of preprocessor specific macros (xxx_pp_xxflags).
• Change the library production to one single ar action after all compilations.
• Compress redundent paths ../aa/../bb
• Introduce some new standard macros :

• Add the cmt show version query
• Add a de-counter to the cmt broadcast output.

Bug fixings

• Date and user name are now correctly provided in generated makefiles
• A default clean target is provided
• Internal error management improved.
• The broadcast command now really terminates in the current package.
• Continuation backslashes permit trailing spaces and are only considered when at line end.

Internal changes

• Makefile building strategy has changed in order to minimize the use of include in makefiles. Re-activation of sub-makes is now prefered. This implies that all constituent' makefile is now autonomous (ie. can be launched using the gmake -f xxx.make command.

  In addition, a strategy option permits to enforce systematic rebuild of all makefile fragments (now the default).

• Systematic use of /bin/rm -f for protecting against user aliases.
• cmt_string_vector and split have been moved to CmtSystem
• Introduction of FAwk (acting onto files) in addition to Awk (actiong onto texts).
• Fragment management moved into cmt_fragment.cxx
• Some additions to cmt_system.cxx :
